Description

PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question.   OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week.   Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office.Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback.   We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery.   We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. Please give us 5 stars in each category through the feedback system, and we will be able to effectively continue to fulfill your passion for rare and collectible music! We have served thousands of satisfied customers - far more than our feedback records indicate - and our aim is to continue to do so. !EXCELLENT CLEAN VINYL! Plays tops!

Rare original 1965 TRUE STEREO first pressing on the "Etiquette" label out of the north west (Seattle Washington area) ....top collectible garage artifact, and....still cookin' after 49 years...

!!! Here Are... the Sonics is the quintessential crude garage rocker album. The Sonics’ songs touch on such divine subjects as fast cars, dance steps, and cruel women. The lyrics are wonderfully forgettable and "!!!Here Are the Sonics!!!" gets by through sheer force of will. No songs could contain this energy. It’s actually best that the songs just give way to the frenzied power of the band. Finesse wasn’t even remotely the point of the Sonics. They blasted you away with pure rock ‘n’ roll power. Their fuzzy-sounding guitars put a twist on that high energy pounding garage & R&B. “The Witch” was the hit single that initially catapulted the Sonics in garage rock lore. Old-fashioned rock ‘n’ roll songwriting like this has long since seen its demise. At some point it was simply time to move on, but it’s great to go back and check out when it worked so beautifully. These were a bunch of kids with time on their hands and a dorky conviction to cutting loose with some instruments. Gerry Rosalie is a big part of what made the Sonics so special. He did pound out some nice keyboards, but those vocals were something else. The album took some time to record because Rosalie could only do so many songs before his voice gave out from screaming. The results far surpassed his abilities on paper.

Though the group only wrote a few of the album’s songs, the covers are certainly not filler. “Do You Love Me” is one of the hardest rockers on the disc. “Have Love Will Travel” takes on hometown hero Richard Berry’s song with extreme passion. The thundering bass highlights the sound that became so important for bands like the Gang of Four, the Fall, and Wire. Rave-ups of tunes the Wailers’ “Dirty Robber” also help the album cook. Letting these hooligans into the studio to destroy these songs was part of some greater miracle.

The Sonics made music that makes you want to turn the stereo to full power, not because you have to but because you crave more of that sound. Anyone afraid their ears may bleed need but step aside. America wasn’t exactly supporting their own in 1965 buand maybe there could have not been a Stooges, or MC5 without the Sonics. Make no mistake; the Sonics were the creators and Kings of 'Garage Rock'.

Many have tried to recreate the Sonics sound with varying degrees of success. None have even held a candle to them.

The Sonics went against the grain and liked it; perhaps so will you.

CONDITION: The Cover: is crisp & strong; a thick cardboard cover retains original colors and is rated VG+ with light shelf rub = the back with group photo has only a bit of light shelf wear starting (most covers are well worn being a wear prone cover) ...the best thing is it is very solid = the seams are solid, tight...no bends, no writing, no delete marks

The Vinyl: is still glossy over both sides ...a clean "EX" (excellent) minor visual scuff is no problem as the whole LP plays clean & strong -- well taken care of, the deep groove pressing easily provides a killer clean listen to the wild garage jams exactly as released 49 years ago.... excellent clear audio all the way...no groove wear!
