Description

GREAT PRETENDER/ALLEY CAT SCRATCH by JIM ALLEY & THE ALLEY CATS (PEARL) 1961

GREAT PRETENDER is a cool uptempo take on the Platters hit with a nice guitar break.  The flip is a kookie guitar instrumental.  The bottom of the label reads "Recorded at Jan Eden Recording and Sound Inc. Indianapolis, Indiana".  There is no release number, but the RCA master numbers are MO8W-1111 & MO8W-1112, indicating 1961 and probably pressed in Indianapolis as well.

The record is in VG condition, some gloss and general wear  The record plays through without sticks or skips and some light noise.  This is not an easy record to find, well worth the starting price with NO RESERVE.  Plus, shipping is FREE in the U.S.!
