Inner Life was an American club-oriented soul studio project formed in 1979 that enjoyed success with "I'm Caught Up (In a One Night Love Affair)" (1979), "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" (1981), and "Moment of My Life" (1982).Tracks featured the vocals of Jocelyn Brown and Leroy Burgess(formerly of Black Ivory). They were produced and arranged by Patrick Adams and engineered by Bob Blank and Joe Arlotta,Mixed by John Morales the album was originally produced for executive producer Greg Carmichael, whose Red Greg Records was an early and prolific disco label based in New York.
John Morales In 1975, while being DJ for a few years in local Bronx clubs, John Morales realised that he wanted to make some of his records last longer. So, by use of his TEAC 71/2 and a box of razor blades, John started splicing tape for endless hours, and became one the first DJs to create the 'extended mix' (or 'remix' in its original form). In doing so, he realised also that he could achieve a similar thing by cutting, slicing and taping parts from different recordings: the basis for his medleys. John Morales started to release some of his reel-to-reel edits, medleys and remixes on acetates via Sunshine Sound. Greg Carmichael gave him his first mixing job after hearing some of these mixes. These first two official mixes made him famous: 'Dance and Shake Your Tambourine' for Universal Robot Band and the classic from Inner Life: 'I'm Caught Up".
