Description
This is a fine U.S. white label promo pressing copy of the second and final LP by the Insect Trust, released in 1970. Emerging from New York's Greenwich Village, the group was a brainy outfit, taking their name (albeit indirectly) from William Burrough's Naked Lunch, and including songs by Moondog and novelist Thomas Pynchon (the lyrics at least) on their sophomore effort. Their sound is anything but academic, however, as the presence of former Holy Modal Rounders collaborator Luke Faust suggests, blending folk, jazz, and rock in an infectious mix. The laminated jacket has light ring wear and staining, and light corner, spine, seam, and edge wear (EX). There is a “Promotional Copy/Not for Sale” sticker on the front cover. The disc is clean with a little light dinging and scuffing, and plays with some light surface noise and occasional light crackling (EX-). “Sample Copy/Not for Sale” is printed on both disc labels.
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
