Loud (!) Fast (!) Rules (!) Brilliant Straight Edge Hardcore KILLER from the States. Original US pressings were born with a BLUE CIRCLE around the labels. As you know repressings were issued with a BLACK CIRLCE on the label etiquettes. This fighter is for true believers and not for children because this old-school classic is choked full of things that make Hardcore so great. A superclean pressing because the cover has been opened but there is still the original SHRINKWRAP over it (see scan). The first and best longplayer by INSTED from California goes by the title BONDS OF FRIENDSHIP. It is the original black vinyl pressing, released on the great HC label ‘Wishingwell’ in 1988 (catalogue number GRI 6019-1). Label mates were YOUTH OF TODAY and UNIFORM CHOICE. Believe me, this US stomper will push your heartbeat to the limit. Listen to amazing tracks like ‘United’ / ‘Time To Change’ / ‘Proud Youth’ / ‘Face To Face’ / ‘Standing Still’ and so on.   • Semi classic of the late 80’s straight edge revival. Insted were definitely none of the most original bands of that scene, but this LP sums up the west coast sXe sound pretty well; fast and tight hardcore with shouted choruses. The powerful production is a big plus, chunky guitars and thundering drums. Their best.

  • SE-Klassiker der zweiten Reihe. Insted waren sicherlich nicht die originellste Band dieses Genres, aber diese LP fasst den End-80er-West-Coast-Sound ganz gut zusammen; schneller und kompakter Straight-Edge-Hardcore mit geschrieenen Vocals und Chören. Die kraftvolle Produktion ist ein großes Plus, Gitarren und Drums haben viel Power. Ihre beste Platte.
