Some History (courtesy Wikipedia):

"David Jove (born David Sniderman), December 14, 1942 - September 26, 2004, was a Canadian director, producer and writer, particularly of underground and alternative music-themed films.  After spending the mid-1960s in London and being a part of the Rolling Stones' circle of friends, he moved to Los Angeles, where he would be based for the rest of his life.

He may have been best-known as the creator of the early 1980s music program, New Wave Theatre, which gained notoriety in the early days of cable television.  It was shown as part of USA Network's late night weekend variety show, Night Flight hosted by Peter Ivers.

"New Wave Theatre" was co-written by longtime Jove collaborator and former Billboard editor Ed Ochs, who also wrote the liner notes to Jove's two records, "Sweeter Song" and "Into the Shrine" (co-writing "Never Say Never" on "Shrine").  Ochs also co-wrote Jove's only feature film, "Stranger Than Love" (originally "I Married My Mom!"), and, with Jove, formed one half of Oxygen, a studio band that fused rock and disco and in 1979 recorded an EP of six original Jove/Ochs songs, "The Bones of Hollywood".

Jove met music video producer Paul Flattery at a 1983 New York Billboard Video conference.  They formed an association and that resulted in the music video "Stop In The Name Of Love" for the reformed English band The Hollies, with Graham Nash and the TV show "The Top," which came about after Peter Ivers' murder.  In the immediate aftermath of Iver's killing, Jove was offered help by producer/director/writer Harold Ramis, a friend of Ivers.  Jove, Ramis and Flattery created and made "The Top" for KTLA.  The show was a mixture of live music, videos (this was pre-MTV) and humor.  Cyndi Lauper performed "Grils Just Want To Have Fun" and "True Colors," The Hollies performed "Stop In The Name Of Love" and The Romantics performed "Talking In Your Sleep" and "What I Like About You". Guest stars included Rodney Dangerfield, Bill Muray and Dan Aykroyd.  The host was Chevy Chase, who--dressed as a "punk" of that era--got into a physical altercation with an audience member during the opening monologue.  He immediately left the taping.  The producers then got Andy Kaufman to fill in for Chase and recorded the host segments at a separate, later session.  It was to be the last professional appearance by Andy Kaufman before his death.

"The Top" aired on Friday January 27, 1984 at 7 - 8pm. It scored a 7.7% rating and a 14% share. This represented a 28% rating increase and a 27% share increase over KTLA's regularly scheduled "Happy Days/LaVerne & Shirley."

Jove was married to actress/comedienne Lotus Weinstock.  Their daughter is actress/musician Lili Haydn."

RECORD GRADING SYSTEM:  All Records are VISUALLY GRADED only.  VISUAL GRADING of records is determined as follows:

MINT CONDITION (M):  Truly "As New", as it was when it left the factory.  No scratches, scuffs, flaws, defects, marks or other indications of being handled.  Records that are Still Sealed in their original factory wrapping are considered to be in this category.  (Please Note: Most records prior to the mid 1960s were NOT wrapped by the factory when new, so "Still New", Mint items from before that time can be without wrapping.)

NEAR MINT (NM):  Vinyl is virtually flawless, very bright and shiny. Still no scuffs or scratches but may have been played (very sparingly).  The disc will play with no audible noise. The label is bright, clean and unmarked.

EXCELLENT (EXC):  May have 1-4 very minor, barely visible scuffs (such as from brushing of a fingernail or contact with the inner sleeve), possibly a hairline scratch or two; nothing that is obvious or would be expected to affect play. Vinyl is bright and shiny, label is clean and unmarked.

VERY GOOD (VG):  Some visible surface wear, such as very minor scratches or scuffs. Vinyl will still have good luster; labels may have minor imperfections (small stickers or initials, etc.) but otherwise clean.

GOOD (G):  Vinyl will have noticeable scratches or scuffs that would likely cause minor surface noise, but do not overpower the music. There will be no skips. Vinyl may appear somewhat dull and grayish. Labels may have small tears, tape marks, larger writing, etc. but still easily legible. There may be minor wear at the spindle hole.

FAIR (F):  Well-played, dull, grayish vinyl with deeper scratches and wear causing distracting surface noise (hisses, pops, cracks, etc.).  The record will still play through without any skips. Labels may be defaced or damaged.

ALBUM COVER ("JACKET") GRADES:

MINT (M):  Absolutely flawless; no corner dings, marks, tears, dents, fading, discoloration, impressions from the disc, or other flaws.

NEAR MINT (NM):  Very minor signs of wear or cover impressions; none that interfere with the integrity of the Artwork.

EXCELLENT (EXC):  Minor disc impression or slight corner creases.  No wrinkles, puckers, seam splits or writing on the cover. Artwork is clean and unworn and there is no ink wear.

VERY GOOD (VG):  Cover is clean but may have minor writing or marks and may show slight wear. There may be just the start of ring wear, where the disc has created a raised area on the cover that resulted in the ink wearing off the paper. There may be slight discoloration or staining, minor seam wear, but no splits or tears. Corners may have small creases, mild fraying or light bumps.

GOOD (G):  Covers are worn and used. Seams may be starting to split or may have been unobtrusively repaired with clear tape. There is moderate ringwear, but the artwork is still attractive. There may be yellowing or discoloration and there may be larger writing, labels, or marks. Corners may have damage or creases and there may be scratches or gouges that otherwise damage the artwork.

FAIR (F):  Several (but not all) of the following flaws will apply: Seam splits, large marker writing, major seam splits, significant ring wear, damaged corners, tears, cuts, gouges, masking or other tape seam repairs, or other flaws and damage.
