DESCRIPTION

Here is a GENUINE original Mono 1964 INTRODUCING THE BEATLES Vee Jay records, VJLP 1062.  This version has the hard-to-find OVAL label and it’s the real deal!

Bruce Spitzer/Perry Cox - VJ 1062 (V2) MR1B.  This translates to the VJLP 1062 Variation 2, MONO Cover, Version 1B.   The Variation 1 - the original LOVE ME DO and PS I LOVE YOU and were immediately corrected to ASK ME WHY and PLEASE, PLEASE ME in Variation 2.   Check out this version with pictures at rarebeatles.com.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS

-       RARE VJ OVAL LABEL with Color Rainbow

-       Back Cover “Please, Please Me” (with comma) and “Ask Me Why” indicating Variation 2.

-       Labels have “Side 1” and “Side 2” in upper and lower case letters.  

-       The song titles are Left Justified on the labels.

-       INTRODUCING THE BEATLES and THE BEATLES are above the spindle hole

-       Catalog numbers on front cover LP 1062; back cover VJLP 1062; spine LP1062 (partially worn off) 

-       On Spine: • VEE JAY • INTRODUCING THE BEATLES • VEE JAY • LP1062  (partially worn off)

-       Does not have Long Playing and Microgroove on the label

-       'I Saw Her Standing There' starts with Paul's saying "Four!"

-       George’s shadow on the front cover  

-       The actual song listing is the same as on the back cover

CONDITION

Record:  VERY GOOD+.  This record plays extremely well with no skips or distortion.  There are some superficial scratches with some crackle in between tracks and in the soft parts.  Record plays cleanly with no issues.  Record shines and appears not to have been overly played.  Amazing playing condition for a record from this era.

Cover/Labels:  VERY GOOD+ for the COVER and NEAR MINT for the LABELS.  The cover has some wear on the front/back; some wear on the top and bottom seams (2-in seam split), but otherwise perfectly intact.  A little wear on the corners of the spine (LP1062 is partially worn off), but the spine is very much intact.  No tape, no writing, no price stickers. The Labels and Spindle holes are pristine and show no wear.   Overall very clean condition for the cover/labels.
