This month we are offering a very special series of Persian classical music recorded and released in Iran before the revolution, some of them carried out by commercial local companies and some of them carried out by the cultural department of the Shah's government. The LP format never gained popularity in Iran; even the most popular musicians rarely released LPs and they did in limited quantities, let alone intellectual classical music like this. If you add today's facts in mind, you'll have an understanding of how difficult to find these very precious records, hence their values.
This LP is simply fan-tas-tic!.. that is if you are into "avaz", the Persian vocal music art. It's actually not a straightforward avaz record. It is comprised of ghazals, poems of love and subtle erotica, sung in classical-to-folk style vocal improvisations by the legendary artist Iraj! Beautiful cover art! Cover is VG++. Light ringwear, there's 2 cm. split in the middle of the spine (no other splits), no tears, no writings. Disc is VG++ to EX-. Only few light hairlines, surface shiny and plays very strong. RARE LP!
