Mario Nascimbene – Melodie e ritmi - Canzoni varie (Meridiana 504, Italy, late 60's)
What a record ! Discs on this Italian library music series (Nascimbene' own, private label) usually sells for 250 and sometimes more... Probably even more difficult to find than his superb soundtracks "Le soldatesse", "Commandos" or "Alexander the Great"... The orchestra on this album is directed by Roberto Pregadio, so you know how subtle and refined the music can be... Very beautiful small jazz group sound with vibraphone, harpsichord, female chorus and scat, bossa jazz, etc... Wonderful ! The best tracks are : "Swing in Quartet", "Blues in Quartet", "Fox Trot in Quartet", "Una bossa per voi", "USA Swing", "Slow della sera", "Ciocherellando con swing", "Fox del lavoro". Similar to Giuliano Sorgini, Paolo Renosto / Lesiman, Bruno Nicolai, Nino Rota, Alessandro Alessandroni, Piero Umiliani. Less than 200 copies pressed ?
