Ian Brown: Unfinished Monkey Business 1998 UK Original Press Vinyl Limited 5000
This is a really rare original pressing of Ian Brown's 1998 debut album. Recorded in 1997, it includes the singles "My Star", "Corpses in Their Mouths" and Can't See Me". The LP comes in a pocket gatefold picture sleeve with printed inner sleeves and contains a booklet of photographs of Ian Brown. Each copy is individually numbered on the rear cover; as you can see this copy is number 4872. These original pressings rarely come up for auction, especially with the vinyl in Mint condition. I'm selling a lot of vinyl as it's a bit disappointing to see it all just sitting on my shelf, knowing full well I'm not going to play it. Time for someone else to enjoy it.
I bought the album on pre-order from Spillers Records in Cardiff (not sure how many, if any, actually made it to the shelves) and its been in my collection ever since. I bought quite a few vinyl during the 90s/early 2000s with the intent of starting a vinyl collection, but decided to concentrate on CDs due to space and ease of listening. I can't ever remember playing this record as I also bought it on CD. Therefore the vinyl is in Mint condition. The outer sleeve has some minor wear on two of the corners (same side) from sitting on my shelf, so I've graded it as VG+ just to err on the side of caution, other than that it's Excellent. I've included photos of all the marks I can see as I feel it's better to show everything, rather than the buyer be surprised and annoyed on opening. The inner pictures and the photo booklet are also in Mint condition.
I have packaged the record as a homemade parcel that is extremely well protected. I haven't personally had any problems sending or receiving vinyl in standard packaging, but friends have, so decided to make the parcel so well protected that damage will only occur should someone deliberately try to smash it!
I always try to offer the cheapest and quickest form of tracked postage which is First Class Small Parcel (£4.85). The parcel weighs in at 544g and is 35x35x4, right on the limit for a Small Parcel (35cm width). If the Post Office want to be their pedantic usual self and say it's a couple of mm over, I won't ask for more in P&P but take the hit myself. I do not charge for packaging.
