Description

Ian Gillan (Deep Purple): ‘Gillan’ Japanese import vinyl album.

East World Sound: Cat No : EWS 81120

Original 1st issue Japan only release with different tracks/versions to later UK release.

Rare to find this album this outside of the land of the rising sun.

Includes original paper OBI and 2 sided insert

As an expensive import back in 1978, cherished and kept in gatefold protective sleeve, hence the outer sleeve is in near mint condition...hard to let this go ?. Have many happy memories of those Marquee gigs.

When originally bought it was played a number of times….it is that good!, then filed away in their polythene sleeves on a shelf…only to now surface.

Visual inspection reveals the disc are generally in excellent condition, with bright glossy lustre and minimal number of spidery spindle marks.

Selling on behalf of my Dad (who supplied all the info) from his personal collection, from the olden days when he collected vinyl.

Important perspective info, please read….thanks ?.

A few words about the vinyl grading.

I try to be as honest as possible, but all grades are based upon an experienced but ultimately subjective visual inspection, trying to identify and highlight obvious issues.

Back in the day whilst my Dad purchased much of the vinyl new, as he expanded his collection , (eventually running into a few thousand discs) hence many only played once, inevitably he was drawn to second hand (pre-loved) copies of certain discs, including the rarer original 1970’s issue boots.

As you will appreciate, otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this or looking at the listing, the nature of many of these live/unofficial recordings meant that original production standards were not necessarily a top priority, with occasional mastering/pressing faults occurring.

Similarly with any second hand vinyl which in some cases is almost 50 years old they will potentially exhibit aural signs of having been played, sometimes a  fair bit..these are not mint, new unplayed discs (unless stated).

The attraction for my Dad was either obtaining the different variations of an issue or otherwise unavailable rare recordings…its called collecting!

When playing vinyl my Dad had a Technics SL1800 turntable with Ortfon cartridge, so no thrashing and grinding on an old  fidelity UA4! (early 70’s starter bedroom lo-fi, crank it up ?).

I aim to use recycled packaging when possible, but rest assure that your vinyl will be well packed and protected against the trials of postal travel!

Any questions or if you need more photos please ask.

If you have any  issues please contact me before leaving feedback as my intention is to give you the e-bay buying experience that I myself would want, i.e. customer satisfaction all round.
