Description
This sale is for an 1955 LP of Ida Haendel and the London Symphony Orchestra, performing Brahms Violin Concerto under the direction of Sergiu Celibidache. The LP was released in the UK by HMV records and is a monaural recording with serial number CLP1032 / Matrix number 2XEA 446-IN / 2XEA 447-3N. As you can see the Sleeve has some wear with a noticeable crease to the bottom right hand corner which has split the laminate finish. There is some peeling of the laminated to the opening edge and to the rear, were a portion of the card has peeled up and bears some ink numbers (see photo). There is a few CM's of the sleeve fold over that is missing around the CLP1032 in the top right of the rear. The sleeve's spine titles are fine and not worn and is otherwise structurally OK with no splits or ring wear, I would therefore grade as G+. The record looks like it could benefit from a clean as the surface looks a little cloudy but no obvious surface wear on the first side (VG +), the second is not dissimilar but has a very faint hairline mark that covers that side (VG). The records HMV labels look fine and are free from wear on both sides. Due to the age and the rarity of the item I thought I would give the disc a play grade. The disc had excellent play back I didn't discern any audible faults, so no surface noise or hiss, skips, jumps or pops, a very well pressed LP.
