RIP - David HI Jimmy!

** This is from my personal collection. I am the original owner. **
Up for sale my RARE German 12" ** SUPER SOUND SINGLE ** from 1982 featuring the dynamic collaboration of Iggy Pop and David Bowie in 1977:

Lust For Life (5:12)                                                                      (b/w)                                                              The Passenger (4:40)                                                        RCA Victor PC 9888 [AF]  *** SUPER SOUND SINGLE ***

Why and what is a 45 rpm SUPER SOUND SINGLE?

Standard issue 7" 45's have a label diameter of 3.5". 12" 33's/45's have a label diameter of 4" and generally an extra inch or more of dead space, so we'll say 5".
So on the inside grooves, that's roughly:
495"/min for the 7" 45 RPM 1254"/min for the 12" 33 RPM and 1710"/min for the 12" 45 RPM.
If we spin the disk at 45 rpm we now have a 35% increase in groove velocity at any point on the disk. This is a huge advantage!
That's why every Dance Record has only 1 Track per Side of a 12" and runs mostly only between 6 and 10 minutes.  The "Super Sound Single" in the eighties with the special edits and later on Remixes were all done with that in mind.
Notice the sharp jump up in resolution, diameter and speed. the extra inch and a half gives 3 x the resolution.  My math was really sloppy here but that should give you the idea. - By Kevin Gray

*** Visual Grading: ***
First of all: Can you dig the Ig'sters BLUE EYES against the BLUE background? Killer! Sorry, on with the grading.
12" Hi-gloss sleeve looks EXC, only minor creasing, vivid Iggy graphic and printing from RCA Victor on this 1982 12" release. Vinyl looks NEAR MINT, unplayed condition, I am the original owner, glossy shiny black, not a scratch to be found.       The vinyl was issued in a generic white hole cut paper sleeve but we always re-sleeve with VRP sleeve to protect the vinyl,       of course the original white generic sleeve will be included for you. The RCA Victor labels are NEAR MINT, bright white/silver RCA Victor graphics and printing on black background, un-marked, no spindle drags,         perfect spindle hole.

Add me as a "Seller You Follow" as I will be listing lots of rare Bowie 45's, LP's, CD's and Memorabilia over time.
I've collected David since 1973 and what a trip it has been with this incredible artist and his career.
It was such a shame and incredible loss with his passing. It just seems unreal he is gone.
But what a body of work he has left us to enjoy and new releases to look forward to posthumously in the forecast.

Pay-Pal only please.
Thank you.
Happy Browsing.
