Recorded on December 16, 1961 (tracks A1 to B2) and on December 23 (track B3).LP is VG++, with superficial scuffs on either side - plays with little to no surface noise with no skips. This appears to be a mono US pressing with a "step" on either side and has the "R" underneath the "E" in Blue Note and the bottom of the interior labels. The matrix area has RVG stamped on either side. There are a couple of mysteries about this LP: one is that I have found no ear in the matrix area. The other is that the interior paper sleeve has "27 Years Blue Note 1939-1966" printed at the top. This LP was originally released in 1962. Discogs does not list that this LP was reissued in 1966 (nor does any other reissue have the same ID number of BLP 4098), so I am a bit unsure of this actual exact pressing. Perhaps this was an original press that was released at a later time with a paper insert that was created in 1966? This came from a nice jazz collection that was well cared for. The actual matrix info is as follows: Stamped RVG with etched BN-LP-4098-A / Stamped RVG with etched BN-LP-4098-B. Both sides of the interior labels have the "New York USA" address. The back of the jacket has the 47 W 63rd address printed at the bottom. Listen to all of the tracks from this actual LP, for reference:

Interior labels are clean and LP retains a nice gloss. Jacket is a solid VG+, still in the original shrink wrap! The shrink is torn a bit on the back, and some of the exposed portions of the jackets has small scratches and abrasions (see pictures). There is a small indentation near the center of the lip of the jacket on the back (see pictures). Because a majority of the original shrink remains, the jacket is very clean, the laminate on the front is intact, and the coloring remains bright. Includes original interior paper sleeve. This is a solid addition to any jazz collection! Don't miss this rare gem! We will pack this securely for safe delivery - this will be a little heavy due to the inserts we put in the LP mailer.
