ILLINOIS JACQUET - PORT OF RICO, Clef MG C-701, deep groove pressing, cover art by David Stone Martin.
The musicians on this 1952 recording are Illinois Jacquet (tenor sax), Russell Jacquet (trumpet), Matthew Gee (trombone), Cecil Payne (baritone sax), Count Basie (organ), Hank Jones (piano, organ), Raymond Acea, Sir Charles Thompson (piano), Joe Sinacore (guitar), Ray Brown, Al Lucas (bass), Jimmy Crawford, Shadow Wilson (drums).
The tunes are Port of Rico, Lean Baby, Somewhere Along the Way, The Cool Rage, It's the Talk of the Town, JATAP Conga, Heads, Blues In the Night, Fat Man Boogie, What's the Riff, Where Are You.
Condition of record is E, no scuffs, no scratches, no spindle marks. Plays with some surface noise, not detrimental to the music. Jacket is very clean - no ring wear, no seam splits.

Shipments are made on Saturday and Tuesday mornings. Records which have been paid for by 3:00 PM on the day before will be shipped on those days.
