Thanks for viewing my sale for a pristine pressing of Jean Michel Jarre’s 1st album, on Disques Motors distributed by Polydor (France). “Oxygene” introduced Jarre to a huge audience and as of 2004 he has sold an estimated 80 million total of all his albums. Interestingly, Jarre held the first concert that attracted more than a million people to a single performance, and since has exceeded that number to several of his blockbuster music and light shows. For the first few years after it’s release, every time Oxygene was played in my record store, it sold a few copies.
CONDITION: This was mixed in with my sealed New Old Stock (NOS) Jarre LPs, but since it was not sealed, I played it once to test. The record itself is pristine, a conservative Near Mint rating and played perfectly; cover in VG+ condition with slight damage to top edge of the cover, probably caused by shipping, and although protected all these years by a poly, there is the slightest shelfwear to the corners.
As precusor to Electronica, Jarre pioneered Ambient and the New Age genres. I believe Trance and maybe even EDM were influenced by this virtuoso electronic musician. If you are not familiar with Jarre, it is worth the time to explore his Youtube videos.
Originally Jarre played guitar in a band, but his musical style was perhaps most heavily influenced by Pierre Schaeffer, a pioneer of music concrète at the Groupe de Recherches Musicales. His first mainstream success was the 1976 album Oxygène.

(Trust me the music is much more interesting than the titles)
