Description

The original Esquire May 1956 first pressing in fragile first design sleeve.A jazz landmark featuring the great Elmo Hope,Philly Joe Jones,Hank Mobley,John Coltrane,Donald Byrd and Paul Chambers.
Sleeve has some 50 year plus wear but has survived well in strong unfaded reds and greys a classic sleeve design.record is the really old thick pressing on an ex set of labels as well.disc plays through good on my turntable with clicks,pops,scratches visual marks but not too nasty just played well and jazzed out a bit..so good to vg. Strong performances on this disc!!! Very scarce as well in any shape.

RVG is handwritten in the run out groove and this pressing was made in this country in 1959. It appears to have its original paper inner sleeve although split in places. outer sleeve is a flip back and is laminated,clarifoiled front and back with pictures to show, Plays through with no skips jumps on my turntable.surface,ticks and clicks on both sides ,still sounds great to me.
