• First studio album released by The Beatles in the United States. Originally scheduled for a July 1963 release, the LP came out in January 1964, on Vee-Jay Records, ten days before Capitol's Meet the Beatles!.

• The legal story of Capitol vs Vee-Jay is insane, with rushed copies, bootlegs, etc. This legitimate version has "Please Please Me" and "Ask Me Why" on the back cover with the bracketed Vee Jay logo and colorband on the label. Record label has LONG PLAYING and MICROGROOVE in uppercase, Long Playing is two words. Has SIDE 1 and SIDE 2 designations. Catalog number on label / back cover : VJLP 1062 Catalog number on front cover: LP 1062.

• Grading based on visual inspection and close listening, not by pro rating company. Very good clear sound and overall good physical condition with some minor shelf edge wear, scuffing, and light ring wear typical of an album of this vintage. Dust sleeve fraying a bit. See photos. Album kept in storage for almost 60 years.
