Description
Up for auction is an early issue of Introducing Beatles with the black VJ label. This is the mono version - LP 1062. The various versions of this album can get quite confusing. I am not an expert on Beatle records but will list every detail I can find. The record has:
INTRODUCING THE BEATLES above the hole and in all capitals on both sides. (later versions had INTRODUCING the BEATLES and even later versions had the "The Beatles" under the hole.)
Black bracketed VJ label - cover has oval VeeJay label on the front.
Long Playing and Microgroove on both sides (missing from later versions)
Lists sides as "Side I and Side II (later versions had Side 1 & Side 2)
Lists the credit for Chains as "Coffin - King" instead of "Goffin-King"
Has a comma in "Please, Please Me" on the cover with no comma on the label.
Each side has three Matrix marks:
"URJ" audiomatrix stamp
"2 - 6 - 64" date
"63-3402 on one side and "63-3403" on the other.
The cover is in good condition - edge wear and a 4 1/2" split on the bottom, corner wear, foxing and someone has inked over the "s" on "side two" on the back cover. The vinyl has a lot of scuffs and a couple small scratches - plays fine but with noise. I've tried to describe all the details I can - email me with any further questions. This hard to find early album is being offered at a low opening bid with No Reserve.
