CURRENTLY RUNNING AN ADDITIONAL "3 DAY DELAY" ON DISPATCH [i.e 3Ds+3Ds]
An original 1st issue of IAGDV on the USA ATCO label from 1968. Please note this title is available at very 1st press with a different label design, but ATCO were right in the middle of a major label redesign as this title was released in summer 1968. This particular example is a Genuine 1968 [summer] copy [1st issue] from when the album charted. Etching [MR] Masteroom . The labels exhibit the groove found on 60's USA pressings. The design is 1st iteration of the new 1968 ATCO layout. There are NO track timings and, on side 1, the track listing actually over-runs the perimeter text...sloppy!! The catalogue number at 12 o'clock does not mention "ATCO". The perimeter text at the foot mentions "1841 Broadway" - that's the original address. The heavy-set vinyl comes housed in an original '68 heavy-card paste-over design cover. Also included is the original ATCO inner sleeve from 1968. Take a look at the close-up pic of the inner it clearly advertises 'Disraeli Gears'. This album was a big seller in the USA [summer -68]. I hope that is enough verification for the astute buyer - but any questions please do feel free to ask. 100% genuine and 100% complete.
Vinyl (Ex+) In superb condition and has only seen light careful use. Under close inspection I can only make out a couple of light marks - nothing remotely troublesome. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Anyone familiar with this early psyche masterpiece will be well aware..that any old copy just will not deliver the goods from an audio perspective. The pressing needs to be near-master and needs to have been looked after supremely well to stand half a chance of really impressing. And this copy does JUST THAT in spades...Beautifully rendered audio from start to finish and is nice and clean even in those super low-key percussive moments in the middle of the title track on side 2. Intros and inbetweens are pretty much silent and the audio comes across with perfect clarity. Interference is pretty much absent. All I could pick-out were a couple of crackles in a couple of isolated moments. A nigh on perfect rendition...Superb!
Cover (Ex) Wow, you don't often see these early USA paste-over covers looking anywhere near this SWEET! The front looks remarkable and doesn't seem to exhibit the surface wear that so often affect these copies. That Gold Award sticker is pristine with no peeling. The rear looks amazing too - how many copies do you see with a rear looking that unaffected by ageing...? No many I'd vouch. Edge wear is very light and the spine is 100% intact. An absolute beaut in my opinion...
Inner (Vg+) Lightest ageing. One two inch side split.
