Description
British Heavy Metal legends Iron Maiden first released 'The Trooper' as the second single from their second single from the smash hit and classic album 'Peace Of Mind' (which reached Number 3 in the UK, Number 14 in the USA and went platinum in both countries). The single was a smash hit in its own right peakign at number 12 for two weeks on the UK chart.
In 2005, Maiden went on a summer tour playing songs soley from the first four album in support of their 'Early Days DVD' released a few months earlier. Supporting the tour and the DVD, Maiden re-issed two classic singles from their 'early days', The first was 'The Number Of The Beast' and the second was the 'Trooper'. The reissue of the 'Trooper' saw Maiden go Top 5 in the singles chart in the UK, Canada and across Europe. The single was released across 3 formats, the most desired and sought after was the limited edition and beautiful 12" picture disc format which is available here in excellent condition!
The 12" format also includes a live version of 'Murders In The Rue Morgue' performed by the current 6 man line up of the band and unavailable anywhere else!
The other 2 tracks are the original studio version of the 'The Trooper' and a live 2003 version.
