Iron Maiden - The First Ten Years box set
20 x 12 inch singles (10 gatefold sleeves)
Signed by all six current band members!
I am offering for sale one of my most prized possessions; my Iron Maiden 'The First Ten Years' box set of 20 12" singles.
The front of the box is signed by all six current members of the band - ie. Bruce Dickinson (just to the left of Eddie's mouth, much easier to see than it looks on the photo), Steve Harris (top left in silver marker), Dave Murray (top centre), Adrian Smith (bottom left), Nicko McBrain (middle of right hand side, again not easy to see on photo but crystal clear in real life. Signed with his usual "Ta! Nicko"), and finally Janick Gers on the bottom right.
The story behind this set is as follows: Back in 1990 when this set was released I was on the doorstep of my local record shop every Monday afternoon for ten weeks to ensure I got the full set and was able to order the box. Each record was played once on the day it was bought and has never been played again since, they are in as new condition with no scratches, dust, fingerprints, nothing. From the moment it was completed this has been the centrepiece of my Iron Maiden collection.
The autographs were gathered over a period of a couple of years between 1993 and 1995. I met Steve, Bruce and Janick at the GMEX in Manchester on the Real Live Tour in 1993. Adrian I met outside the old JBs venue in Dudley when he was touring with ASAP (not sure when this was exactly, probably before '93). Dave took me a bit longer to get hold of, he always seemed be disappearing in the opposite directon when ever the opportunity arose, I finally grabbed him at the fan club playback of the X-Factor (eeurgh!) album in 1995.
As I've already stated all twenty records are in as new condition having been played only once. The box shows signs of being quite well travelled, with the usual scuffs around the edges that are common to pretty much every one of these I've seen, take a look at most of the others on eBay and you'll see what I mean. This box went to all the dates on the UK leg of the Real Live Tour in '93 and has been to a few other places whilst trying to track down the elusive Dave Murray. Take a look at the third photo below which details the scuffing around the edges of the box. To be honest you could cover this up with a black marker but I have left it as it is because every scuff tells a story.
And now we come to my reason for selling. I have not really looked at this item for some time, it's been stored away with the rest of my record collection for the last couple of years since I last moved house. My son want's an Xbox 360 for Christmas and I get the feeling that they are going to be rare and therefore pricey to get hold of, so I'm looking to drum up some extra loot. Hopefully this will go to someone who will really appreciate it: A true Maiden fan who will enjoy owning it as much as I have done.
Reserve is set at a very reasonable price for this item. Postage is £12 as this is a remarkably heavy item for its size.
