Description

Hi!  You are bidding on Velvet Donkey. an album by Scottish humorist, poet, singer, and pianist Ivor Cutler (1923-2006).  The album was released in 1975 by Virgin Records, catalog number OVED 34.  The record is in very good plus condition.  There are a couple of very light pops on each side, but no scratches or skips at 1.75 grams tone arm weight. The jacket is in very good plus condition as well, with light shelf wear and no noticeable ring wear.  There is a price sticker at the upper right corner of the front, with no price on it.   This appears to be a reissue of the original Virgin recording.  Year of reissue unknown.  The album was purchased in Edinburgh in either 1984 or 1985.
Ivor Cutler is definitely an acquired taste.  Some of the humor on this album is laugh out loud funny.  Other bits will make you think WTF?  Some of the tracks are only a few seconds long; others run a few minutes.  Some of the tracks feature Cutler's long time collaborator Phyllis April King.  Cutler was featured in the Beatles' television production of Magical Mystery Tour.
