Description

Happy holidays! Due to Christmas travel, I won't be doing any more auctions until January. So for those that want to spoil themselves, I'm going to post just a handful of gems with a BIN price from my personal collection.  Shoot me an offer and let's see if we can make a deal!

Here's the info on this item:

Release: The Five Letters - Your First Love / Hold My Baby

Format: 45 rpm 7" single

Year: 1957

Notes: Rare yellow label original first pressing. Note the title of side B as Hold MY Baby and two sharp horizonal lines that slope upward to the right as indicators of a true first press. Nice and thick vinyl. The only single released by this obscure vocal group, presumably out of New York. Great doo-wop tracks on both sides, nice upbeat rhythms with great vocal. Classic 50's sound on this one.

Vinyl Condition: VG++, Vinyl itself is in great condition with almost no wear at all - just a couple of very small/light scuffs. No needle drags, no warps. Sound is loud and clear with no pops/clicks/skips, etc. Labels are just as nice. No writing/tears. Just the lightest bit of scuffing on the Ivy logo. Very clean. A top notch copy that would be very hard to ever upgrade.

Sleeve Condition: VG, outer sleeve is blank, but I believe it's original. Has some wrinkling and a small pencil number. No tears, but there is a partial split on the right hand seam.

Please note, this will be shipped in a cardboard sandwich and a box to ensure this rarity arrives to you safely. A signature will be required for delivery.

Check back with me after the New Year for an auction of R&B and blues from several small 50's independent labels and then another rockabilly/rock 'n roll auction.

I want buying from me to be a good experience for you. I also know that condition can be very subjective, so I encourage you to see pics for exact condition details and ask questions if you need additional information. As always, the item you see is the one you will get. Please see my feedback, I think that will show that I am an accurate and fair grader and make sure my customers are happy.
