Description
This is a box set comprising 4 vinyl LP's of Nicol Williamson adapted for vinyl narration of the JJR Tolkien book "The Hobbit". The box contains four vinyl LP's in poly lined sleeves and an 8 page booklet which explains how the book was adapted to vinyl without removing chapters or characters. Also includes information about J.R.R.Tolkien and Nicol Williamson.
Each LP's is in excellent condition visually with absolutely minimal marks from previous play and undamaged labels. They all played through beautifully with the exception of side 8 - for approx 1 minute at the beginning of this side there are a series of clicks during the narration. These do not overpower and the narration is clear throughout but it is there and should be mentioned. The album has an an excellent sound quality otherwise with no other clicks and no skips or jumps. There is minimal crackle throughout as is normal.
The box is in excellent condition with no damage. There is minor wear and a little discolouration from age only. Please see photos.
The booklet is excellent.
I grade all of my records according to The Record Collector Magazines grading system.
I always test play my records on a Pro-Ject Debut Carbon Turntable with Ortofon cartridge stylus unless they are in near mint/ mint condition and appear unplayed but the description will state this. I don't sell records with deep scratches or marks that affect the sound quality and enjoyment.
All of our Vinyl is professionally cleaned using a Pro-Ject VC-S record cleaning machine.
The vinyl is then packaged in a protective anti static sleeve, the whole album placed into a protective outer plastic sleeve and then posted in a robust top of the range custom cardboard record mailer.
