J-Zen is a skilled beat maker from Rennes in France who has been turning heads since his first album Managua. That was written after a trip in South American and this follow up four years later has a worldly travel feel, too, with a wide range of beats on show. There are lad back stoner joints that shimmer like a heat haze on the horizon next to more streamy and tropical beats that drip with dew. "Across The Bridge" is a lush instrumental at the mid point that has you laying back and gazing skywards while "She Venice" is a deep joint with busted kicks that come with suggestive subtle funk.
