Description
Jack Hammer 'Brave New World' 1966 UK original vinyl album on the Polydor red label, catalogue number 582001 (mono)
The numbers and letters stamped on the vinyl are:- Side A: 582001 Av1 1 1 1 Side B: 582001 //B 1 1 1 1
This is a very heavy vinyl and it is not warped. Both sides have a lot of light surface scratches and small bag marks. Also, Side A has a more noticeable scuff mark which crosses tracks 1 & 2 and half of track 4. However, although there is some minor surface sound in the quieter sections, the audio production is not noticeably troubled by any of these blemishes and the sound is very clean and clear all the way through. The only ticks I heard, of any note, are on Side 'A' track 3 but they certainly did not spoil the record for me in any way. There are no sticks, no skips, no jumps and very little lessening of the audio quality.
The track titles can be seen on the label photographs. The labels have quite a lot of spindle lines and faint handling marks, but no writing, no damage.
The cover is a standard single sleeve, it is laminated on the front and the spine, folding over onto a flat back which is not laminated. The laminated front has small creases along the edges and a bigger zig-zag crease in the bottom left corner - there is also a small scuff below that crease near the bottom seam. The tips of the corners at the open edge are a little frayed, but only just, and the back is a little grubby, although still very presentable.
The spine is excellent, very little wear and fully readable.
The inner sleeve is almost certainly the original, it has a poly-liner and is fully intact, just with a little brown staining at the edges and on the back where the dried glue, which holds the liner, has discoloured. There is 'Made in England', 'British Patent' and 'Patent Pending' text in lilac print.
I have checked the Record Collector grading system and I would say the cover is 'very good' and I can only grade the appearance on the vinyl as 'very good' but the audio quality is 'excellent'.
I have described this as carefully and honestly as possible, but it is a no return item so please bid accordingly.
It will be packed in a record mailing box (cruciform) with two pieces of card inside for further protection.
