Finding a decent copy of this record is hard enough, having the original lyric sheet intact is a blessing, this copy has both. Great Divide Records (GDSR 1759) recorded at Plaza Sound Studios in NY on November 12 & 13th 1970 and as issued in 1971. The vinyl itself is in remarkable condition for its age and plays beautifully; the cover is in great shape with nicely done taped seams very solid makes a decent presentation has some age wear.
Based in Greenwich Village Jack (real name was John Studebaker) was a folk songwriter and toured for almost 40 years in the US and Europe where he was very well received. Hardy was a lyrical writer; his songs were political, although usually subtle. He was also the founding editor of Fast Folk Musical Magazine whose entire catalog is now part of the Smithsonian Folkways collection. Jack passed away last year on March 11, he will be missed.
