JACK RIVERS & BILL YOUNG rare SEALED LP Alsie 1970's Arizona rockabilly country Shipping Info   Description RARE factory-sealed private press rockabilly/western swing lp: JACK RIVERS & BILL YOUNG from EUROPE AT NIGHT in East Mesa, Arizona, on Alsie Records / Jack Rivers Enterprises, AR-LP 501; no printed date but circa the 1970's, when Rivers was living in AZ and performing at local clubs ("Europe at Night" is the name of one of them); 12 tracks. I believe some of these tracks have never been released in any other format other than this private release - tracks include: Nobody's Darling, Who Gave You the Right, Buffalo Beauty, Without You, D.O.W., You Passed Like a Ship in the Night, Silver Wings, Burning Bridges, Trophies, I Plan to Cry a Little, Sittin' in a Honky Tonk, and Temporary Love. Some biographical info on this c&w / rockabilly legend: Jack Lewis began recording in the early 1930's; by the 1950's he was a key player in the Seattle - Tacoma country scene; he was the brother of famed hillbilly bandleader and western film star, "Texas Jim" Lewis (the Lone Star Cowboys). In 1950, the brothers settled in Seattle where Jim became host of KING-TV's kiddie show, 'Sheriff Tex's Safety Junction', and Jack Rivers became the host of the local beer-sponsored hillbilly music program, 'Rainier Ranch'; they were also involved in NW radio. CONDITION: MINT (factory sealed with no jacket wear beneath cellophane).
