Description
JACKIE BRENSTON and his Delta Cats: Rocket "88" b/w Come Back Where You Belong; Chess 1458, from 1951. Actually Ike Turner's Kings of Rhythm (Ike on piano here), with sax player Brenston stepping up for the vocal here. Recorded by Sam Phillips at his Memphis studio (later the home of Sun Records).
Some Say this was the First Rock 'n' Roll record. Flip is a slow-mid tempo blues; still with distorto guitar
V (G+) condition; played through OK and still quite enjoyable - with the music much louder than the background; generic sleeve; most reflections, clouds, lint, lines, or specks are from the scanner or camera. Pressed on Styrene plastic rather than shellac.
