You are bidding for a MEGA RARE copy of Jackie Lomax - Sour Milk Sea, with corrected matrix, and KJT Tax stamp. TRULY BRILLIANT MEGA RARE SINGLE!!!
Jaclie Lomax was a contemporary of The Beatles from the earliest days. In 1960 he once played drums for them in his hometown of Wallasey on Merseyside. After fronting the R&B band The Undertakers, he went solo and was mananged by Brian Epstein before signing to Apple.
'Sour Milk Sea' is the greatest record The Beatles never made. GEORGE plays rhythm guitar, PAUL plays bass, and RINGO is on drums. Jackie is also on rhythm guitar, and of course sings. The keyboards are Nicky Hopkins and the lead guitarist is ERIC CLAPTON . George bought it all together fabulously as the record's producer. This single is so RARE, even though it has a stellar cast of musicians it didn't sell very well, don't ask me why as it's a brilliant song!!
It has a corrected matrix with Apple 1001 A-1 and Apple 1001 - B-1, crossed through, this eventually became the matrix for COLD TURKEY by The Plastic Ono Band.
It also has a Tax Stamp KJT on the 'B' side.
This single has so many things going for it that any serious record collector, especially The Beatles, MUST have it in their collection!!!
I try to grade my records as accurately as possible and obviously want to give 100% satisfaction to my buyers. I have played and listened to this album on an ION Profile deck whilst converting it to itunes. I have graded using the Record Collector grading system as follows: I do not and will not sell records that jump or skip, or are warped.
RECORD COLLECTORS GRADING SYSTEM:
MINT: THE RECORD ITSELF IS IN BRAND NEW CONDITION WITH NO SURFACE MARKS OR DETERIORATION IN SOUND QUALITY. THE COVER AND ANY EXTRA ITEMS, ARE IN PERFECT CONDITION.
EXCELLENT: THE RECORD SHOWS SOME SIGNS OF HAVING BEEN PLAYED BUT THERE IS VERY LITTLE LESSENING IN SOUND QUALITY. THE COVER AND PACKAGING MAY HAVE SLIGHT WEAR AND/OR CREASING.
VERY GOOD: THE RECORD HAS OBVIOUSLY BEEN PLAYED MANY TIMES BUT DISPLAYS NO MAJOR DETERIORATION IN SOUND QUALITY, DESPITE NOTICEABLE SURFACE MARKS AN OCCASIONAL LIGHT SCRATCH. NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ON THE COVER AND CONTENTS WITHOUT ANY MAJOR DEFECTS IS ACCEPTABLE.
GOOD: THE RECORD HAS BEEN PLAYED SO MUCH THAT THE SOUND QUALITY HAS NOTICEABLY DETERIORATED PERHAPS WITH SOME DISTORTION AND MILD SCRATCHES. THE COVER AND CONTENTS SUFFER FROM FOLDING, SCUFFED EDGES, SPINE SPLITS, DISCOLOURATION ETC.
Sleeve: VG+ This sleeve is 44 years old so obviously it has creases, however it is the original black Apple paper sleeve. The edges are worn, however there are no splits. The top is obviously feathered.Labels; VG+ the 'A' side has a round sticker mark on it, (I used to put them on to identify that it was mine) Nice dark green apple, with minimal spindle marks. Push out type centre. The 'B' side has my name BEN in biro about 5mm high.
Single; 'A' side EX++ Matrix - Corrected Matrix 1001 A-1 crossed through, with APPLE 3A-1 Plays and sounds brilliant, no scratches, one mark about 1 inch from edge however this does not affect the playing quality.
'B' side EX++ Matrix - Corrected Matrix 1001 B-1 crossed through, with APPLE 3B-1. Tax Stamp KJT around spindle hole. No scratches or marks. As per the 'A' side it plays and sounds brilliant!
Both side show wispy marks from going in and out of the sleeve. This MEGA RARE APPLE single is 44 Years old!!!
