This is 1959, first edition, “RVG” stamped, Laminated Cover, Deep Groove, “P” pressing of JACKIE MCLEAN’s “Jackie’s Bag” on the "47 West 63rd” labels of Blue Note BLP 4051. Musicians include Jackie McLean - alto saxophone, Donald Byrd – trumpet, Sonny Clark - piano (#2-3), Paul Chambers – bass, Philly Joe Jones - drums.

VINYL plays with consistent medium level to loud surface noise (i.e, crackle, static, ?? or ????, relative to the volume of the music/instruments), with pops and ticks. Ensemble sections are clear, dynamic and strong. No skips. Weak gloss. No distortion. Many hairline marks, 9 or so feelable. (If you can’t feel it, you won’t hear it). The Deep Groove “47 West 63rd” labels are clean, spindle wear. Original inner sleeve included. See photos.

LAMINATED COVER is beat. “EARL” in black ink. Peeling, wrinkles, corners worn. Seams and spine almost completely taped. Splits present. See photos. “BLUE NOTE RECORDS INC., 43 West 61st St., New York 23” back jacket shows wear, large red ink letters, dirt. Please see photos.

   

This LP was play-tested on a high-end audio system. RECORD CLEANED ON ULTRASONIC CLEANER.
