Description
Jackie McAuley grew up in Belfast and was the piano player for the 1960’s group Them. After leaving the group, he formed Belfast Gypsies followed by Trader Horne. After that band split up, he recorded this solo album.
This is a U.K. pressing released in 1971 on the Pye subsidiary label Dawn (DNLS 3023) (stereo), it has a total of 10 tracks:-
Side One: - Turning Green; Boy On The Bayou; Country Joe; Cameramen, Wilson And Holmes; Spanish Room.
Side Two: - It’s Alright; Poor Howard; Away; Bangerine, Ruby Farm.
The vinyl is in a beautiful MINT condition. I always grade and examine records under a bright table lamp and the only indication of the record ever having been played, is a faint spindle mark on the side one label, only noticeable when tilted towards the light. I have only played selected tracks and it plays superbly.
The labels are completely clean and free from any writing, marks or major defects.
The record is perfectly flat and has no warps of any description.
The matrix numbers are: - DNLS 3023 A-1 (side one) and DNLS 3023 B-3 (side two).
The record is housed in its original poly-lined inner sleeve in EXCELLENT condition.
The laminated gatefold picture cover is in an EXCELLENT condition. The edges and spine are very strong and the text on the spine is clearly readable (see photos). There is just a small indentation on the top corner near to the Dawn logo, but this could be a printing fault. There is a faint hint of ring-wear on the bottom of the back cover. The opening edge has no noticeable wear. The inside of the gatefold is clean and undamaged.
Overall an exceptional example of this highly collectable 40 year old record and cover. There is no reserve on this item so please feel free to bid, but winning bidders - please pay promptly. If payment is a problem, then please do not bid. Payment by PayPal is the only option on this item.
