Description
Jackie McLean - Swing Swang Swingin'
Blue Note BLP 4024
Here is a great copy of what is undoubtedly the most sought after Jackie McLean LP on Blue Note, a DG W.63rd mono 1st pressing of Swing Swang Swingin'.
- JACKIE McLEAN: alto sax * WALTER BISHOP JR: piano * JIMMY GARRISON: bass * ART TAYLOR: drums
- Both labels have Deep Groove indentation and 47 West 63rd address
- RVG in dead wax on both sides
- 'ear' symbol in dead wax on both sides
- W.61st address on the cover
Record Condition: looks VG+/plays VG +(+) The playing surfaces still have a nice shine with only some light, scattered surface scuffing and some thin hairlines. Absolutely no heavy marks or scratches at all. Sound quality is absolutely terrific throughout, playing loud and clear with mild surface noise which is occasionally audible in the gaps and quietest spots but much more often buried underneath the music.
Coincidentally (or not), the label on side one has 'jackie' written on it. Anyway, both labels are in great shape too.
Cover Condition: VG The cover has some wear, but it's still holding up well. The bottom seam has been taped, while the spine has an 8" split but has not been taped. The top seam is still intact. The front looks clean and colourful, while there's a little writing on the back.
