USA WHITE LABEL PROMO VINYL LP.
It doesn't get much better than this: a classic Jackson Browne album with audiophile quality production and musicianship on a white label promo pressing, which are some of the first pressings off the master tapes from the first mothers/stampers. Remember - these go out to radio and reviewers months before the album is officially released, by which time many new stampers may have been pressed up with the sound quality lessening with each subsequent pressing. Vinyl is how this album is meant to be heard, in all its analog glory, and this is the kind of pressing you need to hear it on. Warm, deep, rich bass and complex mid-ranges, clear upper-mids with sparkling definition and clarity. The better your hi fi, the better this pressing will sound. David Lindley's guitar solo on the title track has never sounded so good...you can even hear his amp humming!
MATRIX NUMBERS IN RUN-OFF GROOVES: SIDE A: 7E-1017 A-6 TML - M CSM / SIDE B: 7E-1017 B-6 TML- M CSM.This information tells us that this is the 6th pressing run off the first set of mothers, and was cut by The Mastering Lab. We have compared the sound quality of this copy with an A-2 and they sound identical, we could not tell the difference, so you are getting a pressing that is as close to the mastering tape as oyu are likely to find. Which is probablyw hy it sounds so good.
SLEEVE: VERY GOOD+, SOME LIGHT SHELF, RING AND EDGE WEAR, PROMO STAMP ON FRONT.
DISC: EXCELLENT MINUS DUE TO ONE SMALL HAIRLINE SCUFF ON SIDE ONE WHICH DOES NOT SOUND AND IS NOT SOMETHING YOU CAN FEEL, OTHERWISE A LOVELY CLEAN VINYL WITH NO SCRATCHES AND MINIMAL SPINDLE WEAR. THIS HAS NOT BEEN PLAYED MORE THAN A FEW TIMES AT MOST, AND PLAYS AND SOUNDS BRILLIANT - THIS WILL NOT DISAPPOINT YOU IF YOU ARE AFTER A CLEAN FIRST ERA PRESSING OF THIS ALBUM.
