Rare original 1965 Japanese JAMES BOND 007 / GOLDFINGER “JUKE BOX 10” flexi-disc and illustrated booklet featuring Sean Connery as James Bond.
A fantastic piece of original Japanese Bond memorabilia issued by Asahi Sonorama during the height of Bondmania.
This unusual release combines a red 7-inch 45 RPM flexi-disc with an extensively illustrated Japanese booklet devoted to Goldfinger and James Bond 007.
The record features:
Side A – GOLDFINGER
Japanese vocal version performed by Mitchie Sahara
Side B – THE JAMES BOND THEME / 007 Theme
The booklet is particularly collectible in its own right, featuring numerous photographs of Sean Connery as James Bond, scenes from Goldfinger, Japanese text, music and lyrics, and a superb feature on Bond’s weapons and equipment.
The back cover is especially striking, headed:
“SEAN CONNERY as agent 007 with GUNS”
and illustrates a remarkable selection of contemporary Bond-style weapons and holsters including the Walther PPK, silenced PPK and Armalite Explorer.
Inside are further Bond photographs, a large GOLDFINGER double-page spread, sheet music for The James Bond Theme and Goldfinger, and other period Japanese Bond material.
The original red JUKE BOX 10 flexi-disc is present, together with its sleeve.
This is the genuine Japanese Asahi Sonorama Juke Box 10 release from the mid-1960s and is an unusual survivor from the first great wave of international James Bond merchandise.
Condition: Vintage used condition with considerable age-related wear. The outer covers show creasing, rubbing, edge/corner wear and small tears. There is age toning and further creasing/wear internally, consistent with a publication now around 60 years old. Please examine the photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description.
The flexi-disc appears visually good for its age but has not been play-tested, so playback quality cannot be guaranteed.
