Description

JAMES BROWN
Funky Drummer

James Brown was constantly moving forward, trying new things, and inventing new twists and turns in soul music, and perhaps inventing FUNK along the way. This single is one of his most influential for King Records. The tune is "Funky Drummer" (parts 1 & 2) and while it wasn't a big hit, it was very much a part of the rap & hip hop sound years later as it was sampled time and again in many other songs. So while it was only a #20 song on the R&B charts back in 1970, it was essential for many other hits to come.
