·       NOTE: THIS ALBUM WAS RELEASED BY KING RECORDS IN NO LESS THAN THREE (3) DIFFERENT VERSIONS WITHIN LESS THAN TWO YEARS (IN FACT, FOUR VERSIONS, COUNTING THE SOMEWHAT ALTERED FOURTH VARIANT, RELEASED IN EARLY 1966); THE THREE VERSIONS HAVE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT TITLES (‘NIGHT TRAIN’; ‘TWIST AROUND’ AND ‘JUMP AROUND’, RESPECTIVELY); ALL THREE VERSIONS HAVE DIFFERENT COVERS, BUT HAVE THE SAME RECORD INSIDE (ALL RECORD  LABELS SHOW TITLE AS ‘TWIST AROUND’). THERE IS A MAJOR CONTROVERSY AS TO WHICH VERSION CAME FIRST: ‘THE NIGHT TRAIN’ OR ‘TWIST AROUND’. WE ARE OF A FIRM BELIEF THAT ‘NIGHT TRAIN’ ACTUALLY CAME FIRST (THE BSN PUBS DISCOGRAPHY PAGE SUPPORTS THIS VIEW) AND THAT ‘TWIST AROUND’ IS THE SECOND VERSION;  HERE’S WHY: IT WOULD MAKE PERFECT SENSE FOR KING RECORDS TO RETITLE THE EXISTING RELEASE TO ‘TWIST AROUND’ TO EXPLOIT THE THEN-POPULAR TWIST CRAZE; HOWEVER, IT WOULD MAKE ABSOLUTELY ZERO SENSE AND IT WOULD BE TOTALLY COUNTERPRODUCTIVE FOR KING TO RETITLE THE ALBUM BY REMOVING THE REFERENCE TO TWIST IN THE MIDST OF THE TWIST HYSTERIA.

(IMPORTANT NOTE: unless otherwise noted, ALL records are graded visually, and NOT play-graded!; we  grade records under the strong, diffuse room light or discrete sunlight)

(a)          WE GRADE THE VINYL AS VERY GOOD(+) . CAUTION: The vinyl is NOT MINT or NEAR MINT, but is nevertheless in a very nice and clean condition. There are some surface marks and abrasions, mostly light and superficial, although some may be longer than 1.1/4 inches (1 inch = 2.5 centimeters)

(b)          The record is pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)           The record has a "deep groove" (an indent in the label about 1/2-inch from the edge of the label, which on SOME labels is associated with very early or first pressings).

(d)          Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!

·       COVER

THE COVER IS NICE --- ABOUT EXCELLENT OR VERY GOOD++ (VG++).

The following flaws or imperfections are noted on the cover:

-        Cover has a partially split top seam (between 2 and 4 inches  / 5 to 10 centimeters)

-        Cover has a partially split bottom seam (between 2 and 4 inches  / 5 to 10 centimeters)

-        Cover has a small peel-off mark, probably from the careless removal of the price sticker (less than 1/8  square inch in size)

-         Cover has JUST A HINT of ring wear (nothing significant); On the scale from 1 to 10 (1 being the least, and  10 being the most severe), we assess the severity of ring wear as 2.

-         Cover shows JUST A HINT of yellowing on back side, apparently from aging.

-         Cover has two corners slightly worn / frayed / bent (nothing significant)

NO OTHER IMPERFECTIONS ON THE COVER:

-        No cut-out (drill) holes.

-        No cut-out corners

-        No saw-marks or indents

-        No dirt/dust rubbing stains (friction marks caused by rubbing against other covers)

-        No writing

-        No stamps

-        No tearing: no chips, dents or nicks on the seams

-        No stains

-        No mold or mildew spots

-        No stickers or labels

-        No water damage

-        No razor marks, scratches, pressure marks, lines, streaks, or  cuts.

-        No warping

-        No wax, glue, paint or liquid drops on the cover

-        No bar codes

-        No RIAA stamps or stickers.
