Description
From the archive of noted James Brown historian, Alan Leeds.
This is a super rare test record of the UNISSUED Polydor 14193, WOMAN PARTS 1 & 2 by JAMES BROWN. .
Scheduled for release in 1973, the release was abruptly cancelled and replaced with Polydor 14194 "SEXY SEXY SEXY". No domestic retail pressings are known to exist.
Oddly, this single was released by Polydor in the U.K. and parts of Europe.
In 1974 a newly recorded version of "WOMAN" appeared on Brown's "Hot" album.
Then, in 1977, the original recording was issued on the "Body Heat" album and a new edit released as a "B" side on Polydor single 14388.
Test pressings were only distributed to Record company and James Brown Productions execs thus pressed in very small numbers. Few survived as most were eventually scrapped so they can be considered very rare.Plain white label.......release number and titles hand written in blue ink.
