Beautiful sealed double LP of some of Mr. Dynamite’s early hits pressed in Canada by Polydor.  Outstanding tracks in spectacular condition.

“Roots of a Revolution” is the first of several James Brown era overviews released by Polygram Records in the mid-1990s. Expanding on the 1984 double LP compilation of the same name, it covers 1956 to 1963, but omits some of Brown's bigger hits from that time period, which can be found on Star Time. Most of the songs were recorded by Brown with his original vocal group, The Famous Flames.

In the USA, PolyGram Special Imports (PSI) was a distributor of European product on PolyGram-associated indie labels, focusing on jazz and classical titles. In Canada, PolyGram Special Imports offered nearly any product from PolyGram and PolyGram-associated labels worldwide, as long as the artists weren't signed to Canadian labels; these imported releases were treated as if they were domestic Canadian releases, with the mechanical royalties paid by PSI.

Stored vertically in a smoke-free environment for 23 years.
