ORIGINAL UK issue on Stateside….NOT a reissue on Kent or Goldwax….Even today, James Carr is an obscure name in R&B/Soul. But he was certainly the equal of Otis, Brown etc. And of course his “Dark End..” found fans in the Northern Soul scene.
This rare album from 1967 has light scuffs so occasional pops are audible. No bad scratches. Cleaned on my vinyl machine it plays very well and the music cuts through fine.
The sleeve is very good. Light handling wear to the back & small creases on the front. But no rips, splits or writing.
James Carr sadly passed away in 2001. This album is a reminder of a tragically underrated soul singer who never received true recognition.
