Jan Dukes De Grey "Mice and Rats in the Loft" Transatlantic TRA 234
Condition: Cover VG (two creases in the laminate, one that runs the length of the front cover. That said, it presents very well). Record: Side one is VG- / Side two EX (grade on side one is forced due to some noise at the beginning of the first track. The rest of the record plays nice. Gatefold laminated cover with inner plastic sleeve attached inside the gatefold Av/Pak. This bag had a strip of sponge along the top designed to wipe clean the disc every time it was taken out of the wallet. Over time this sponge reacted with almost all copies resulting in some haze and playing surface noise along whatever side of the record it touched. In this case it was side one, you will hear some surface noise for the first minute and a half of track one on side one. Listen to the soundclips below taken from the entire record, it's overall a great listen! And the sonic issues are a result of normal abnormal conditions for this record). Amazing record. NM / EX (VG++) / VG+ / VG / VG- / G+ / P (Poor)
I rarely use NM, so EX is often the highest grade I assign.
I grade sonically using a Shure M44-7 cartridge and Technics SL-1200.
I include sound clips for 45s and 12"s only, unless there are specific issues I need to point out on an LP.
