Description
This is becoming a rare LP. It's on the original UK blue and silver Decca Nova budget label and it's entitled 'Sorcerers' by a band called Jan Dukes de Grey.
It's a mono recording and the catalogue number is DN 8. It was released originally in 1969. The music features acid folk psych.
OUTER SLEEVE - The sleeve which is laminated on the front is in fine condition. There is minor ring wear on the front and some slight creasing. The edges and spine are show some creasing and minor wear. The wording along the spine is 100% readable. The rear of the sleeve which is not laminated shows some wear, marks and discolouration. It states on the rear of the sleeve in the bottom left hand corner 'Sleeve printed in England by Senol Printing Limited. Laminated with 'Clarifoil' made by British Celanese Ltd. The rear of the sleeve also features the round hole in the top right hand corner which denotes whether the record is mono or stereo when the Decca company sleeve is inserted. This one is mono and has a red inner sleeve. I've graded the sleeve VG++.
INNER BAG - Decca red and white stereo company sleeve with clear polythene inner. It states at the bottom on one side -
British patent No.800513 Foreign patents pending. MADE IN ENGLAND R.S. 10-69. I've graded this inner bag as VG+ because it is creased and there are some minor tears.
RECORD - The record plays really well on side one with some minor surface noise and the odd pop and click. It looks quite clean and appears to have been played quite a few time. However, the record plays through with no jumps. The rest of side two plays through superbly with some minor surface noise and the occasional pop and click.
LABELS - The labels are the original blue stereo Decca Nova type with the boxed Decca Nova logos at the top. Around the circumference it states - 'ALL RIGHTS OF THE MANUFACTURER AND OF THE OWNER OF THE RECORDED WORK RESERVED - UNAUTHORISED PUBLIC PERFORMANCE BROADCASTING AND COPYING OF THIS RECORD PROHIBITED - MADE IN ENGLAND - THE DECCA RECORD CO. LTD.' The matrix numbers (ARL 9272P - side one - andARL 9273P - side two) are printed above the catalogue numbers on the right hand side of the labels. There are some minor spindle marks around the holes. The labels are in fine condition with no damage. The matrix numbers on the run-off grooves are - side one - ARL-9272.P-1A - side two - ARL-9273P-1A. I have graded the record Ex++.
I try to grade everything very conservatively and I believe that the winner of this auction will not be disappointed. I guarantee everything I sell. It will be difficult to find this record again.
THERE IS NO RESERVE ON THIS ITEM.
