Description

A real rare LP up for auction today. Jandek's 1st LP titled Ready for the House, on his own private press CORWOOD INDUSTRIES (Corwood 0739). Released in 1978. Cover is graded as EX--, there is some slight ringwear on front and back of LP, not real noticeable, some soiling of back cover (very minimal!! NO mold!) no split seams. a little sticker residue on upper right front cover. LP is graded at Ex--, playgraded, there some small scuffs on both sides, side 2 has a slight scratch that does not reach the grooves. Both sides play with a bit of crackle, not profoundly so, but I feel as if I must mention it. Needless to say if you are reading this you know how freakishly rare this LP is!! I have 1 other copy and it's pretty hammered, this is one of the nicer copies I have seen since the record was new!!

Tracks:Naked in the Afternoon/First you think your Fortunes lovely/What can I say What Can I sing/Show me the Way, oh Lord/Know Thyself/They told Me about you/They told me I was a Fool/European Jewel (incomplete)

What can I say about Jandek? A true musical outsider who plumbed the depths of his subconscience producing a lithium/thorazine effect while remaining to sound fresh and hypnotic. Had to have been an influence on some of the current Goth/retro/revival type bands like 16 Horsepower and the like. A true outsider/private press classic!! And he's still cranking albums out right now, in 2006!! That's sticking with your vision!! A reasonable reserve will be set. Check around the net for some idea what this rekkid sell's for. Thanks for looking and happy bidding!! photo up tonight!
