Description

JAPPA EP - EERO KOIVISTOINEN TRIO.. JATP1 1967 JAZZ FINLAND PRIVATE PRESSING

Modern/ Avant-garde/ Latin Jazz

Recorded Jan 1967

Private pressing released on the "Jazz at the Polytechnicum" label

Made in Finland.

 Tracks:

a) Jappa

b) O.K. Song

c) Spanish Lady & Loveable Miss P.

Highly sought after first release by the legendary Eero Koivistoinen (Alto Sax) who penned all 3 tracks.

Trio also including Pekka Sarmanto on bass & Martti "Edward" Vesala on drums.

Additional musicians are: Pekka Tirkkonen on conga (trk2) plus Veli-Pekka Rasanen & Jarmo Vainio on cello (trk3).

VINYL - VG... Still retains a mid sheen and visually both sides have some superficial light scratches/ markings and play through with some mild surface noise with some light crackle and the odd light pop..but absolutely NO SKIPS!

Audio is really very good and in line with what would be expected from a private pressing from this period.

SLEEVE - VG...The unlaminated screen printed pop art sleeve has discolouration with a light stain toward the bottom of the front and some feathering to the edges. Still fully intact with no splits.

LABELS - EX-... Very clean with no markings or pen present.

Please look at the pics carefully to satisfy yourself with what you are buying. This very limited private press EP is extremely rare and these only come up for sale once every few years.

No reserve!
