Description
I am now selling about 90 pct of my collection of 78', LP's and rare books and magazines over the next few months, after 40 years of collecting blues and jazz-records.I have always bought the best copies available of the records in question. And here they are.Other dealers would say mint about many of my records.Well..... I do not use mint few things in this world are perfect.I am very conservative when I grade and I use the grade E+ when the record looks perfect.NORGRAN MG N-1043.PRES AND SWEETS.Mono deep groove, yellow labels w/trumpeter logo; the artist David Stone Martin designed this logo. The trumpet player pictured, on this Norgran label, is Charlie Shavers. This record is a first pressing!!.Cover art by David Stone Martin.Recorded November 1,1955 at Radio Recorders, Hollywood. The session was supervised by Norman Granz. The music is performed by Lester Young, Harry Edison, Oscar Peterson, Herb Ellis, Ray Brown and Buddy Rich. The tunes are: Mean to Me, Red Boy Blues, Pennies from Heaven, That's All, One O'Clock Jump and She's Funny That Way.This LP was autographed by Lester Young at a concert in the fifties and it has an excellent provenance!!.The late Ed Dipple bought it in the fifties for his collection and he signed it on the back cover( in the lower right corner), a few months later he attended a jazz concert where Lester Young signed the record.Ed Dipple owned the Mole Jazz record store in London and there I bought the record from him.I sell this LP very reluctant because Lester Young is my favorite tenor sax player and I have an almost complete collection of his records. The vinyl condition is stunning; a fine shiny vinyl with no visible defects and it has perfect labels!!.The record has some surface noise( on one track only!!) on side 2, track 1; it is due to a tiny pressing fault on this track only( it is not visible!); you can hear a few light tics on the record, other than that the vinyl grades a stunning EE+ condition!!!!.The cover is tight, the front cover is shiny, the colors are bright, there is a very slight ring/edgewear on the cover and there are two tiny whitish spots( just hardly visible) at the top on the back cover and a 6 inch top seam split( from the right side).THAT'S ALL!!.It is an excellent cover. This LP is the ultimate Lester Young Norgran record. You will never get another opportunity to buy such an extremely rare, authentic and unique piece of jazz history!!.AUTHENTICITY AND CONDITION ARE GUARANTEED!!.PLEASE READ MY FEEDBACK!!.The photos are of course of the record in question.I will only accept payment through PayPal for this item.Insurance is required for this priceless LP, but I'll cover the insurance expenses.Low starting bid!!.No reserve. This item is sold as is.No returns.
