Description

* NO RESERVE 3 Day Auction *

I am auctioning my (1978) issue of JAZZ at the Pawn Shop - PROP 7778-79 double album with ARNE Domnerus, Bengt Hallberg, Georg Riedel, Egil Johansen & Lars Erstrand. This is a highly desirable collector and Audiophile LP. Vinyl is Near Mint -, see details under condition heading.

The record comes with gatefold jacket and is all original (no English translation) distributed by AudioSource back in the day. If you are reading this you already know what it is in general so I will add some clarification and note the stamped matrix run-outs:

PROP 7778A  GP-very small 1 with a tear drop under it  15

PROP 7778B  GP-very small 1 with tear drop under it  13

PROP 7779A GP-3 12

PROP 7779B GP-4 very small 7 with a tear drop under it

I do not know what the eye droplet means or if it is just a hash mark below the miniature numbers, I needed the mag glass to see it so I could be off a bit.

Thanks for looking.  This is a three day auction with no reserve and I am starting the bidding low so I believe it WILL GO and should be more fun as well.

All the good words.....WILSON

My background: I still have hundreds of Albums and many are audiophile recordings and collectables. Selling them all as well as all of my audio equipment - It is just time to down size.... My albums after 1975 have always been played on Mid-Fi or higher end equipment (most currently  a Music Hall MMF5 Turntable with Goldring 1012 GX cart) with great care given to handing, disc playing protocol and storage.
Condition:

Cover Jacket- VG+: binding is not torn but heavy wear on all corners, no break thru, spline is perfectly readable inclding gatefold, Color is very good, light ring wear front and back and minor shelf rub on edges. Some compression outside ring wear as this is a very thin cardboard jacket.
Spindle  Hole- Side one EX++, Side two EX++ , see pics.
Inner Sleeve- 1 original Very Good-Paper  liner with poly insert protection with a little fade. 1 EMI (Not Original) Poly static free sleeve, not brittle and no damage.
Inserts: None LP Record:  Near Mint-, less than normal light surface marks from jacket sleeve rub except 79B has one minor but visible jacket scratch. If it were not for the jacket mark this would be NEAR MINT. No needle scratches. It has not been cleaned. I have never played it since I came by it in the 1990s so this is a visual evaluation.

I am now using "Record Collector" Magazine grading. Also adding a Near Mint (NM) between a Mint (M) and an Excellent (EX) Grade. I may add the + if I feel the condition is better or a - if less then the listed ratings' describe. Even new unopened records have a surface noise here and there depending on your equipment. A VG Record will also have some surface noise as it is the nature of the media.

RECORD COLLECTORS GRADING SYSTEM

Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet. booklet or poster are in perfect condiition. Records marked as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint. Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or minor creasing. Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displayes no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any moajor defects is acceptable Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has notceably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc Fair (F) The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or defaced. Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratched, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing Bad (B) The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection-filler

PLEASE CONSIDER THAT RECORD GRADING IS SUBJECTIVE.

I grade conservatively in describing the record and Jacket. I also grade visually according to my own experience as a long time record collector and I believe my standards are high so I am sure my rating will represent the item(s) accurately.

International Buyers;

IMPORTANT!!!

If you place the winning bid, please DO NOT PAY until I have sent an invoice for the actual cost of the international shipping. Multiple Items; I will combine multiple winning items for the actual cost of the shipping if you desire! I can ship up to 5 single LPs in the carton.

If I state FREE DOMESTIC SHIPPING and you are the winning bidder and live outside of the USA I will deduct $4.00 USD from your Invoice.

Import Tax and Duty - Please understand I will NOT mark an item as a "gift". Doing so would be dishonest and unethical. The value marked on the customs forms will reflect the actual cost of the merchandise (NOT including any shipping charges). The buyer is responsible for any and all duty and import taxes.
