Here is a fine example of the original Jeff Beck ''Truth'' album of the 1st and ONLY UK pressing made in November 1968 with the Blue & Black Columbia Label:- SX6293. IN MONO.

Matrix:- XAX3706-1 / 3701-1

The first pressings had the XAX 3606-1 / XAX3607-1 mistakenly stamped and had a single line crossing these out, then the correct Matrix numbers were restamped below.

The labels have the Sold in Usubject to resale text with Gramaphone Co Ltd. on the rims.

1st ISSUE LAMINATED FLIPBACK MONO COVER with ''Petents Pending'' text on bottom flipback edge Prefacing that printers credit, by 1968 GARRARD & LOFTHOUSE had begun adding a coded date 6811 TPS(NOVEMBER 1968)(''Truth'' only one pressing madeand therefore only one cover printed in 1968. The cover is in EXCELLENT condition with some slight creasing to the front shiny surface and the shape of the record being visible(As would be expected with an LP which is nearly 40 years old) all this doesnt detract from the overall sleeve quality.The ORIGINAL 1968 EMI LP ADVERTS INNER SLEEVE IS IN EXCELLENT ++ CONDITION The vinyl is still in abright and shiny condition with some slight marks on the vinyl, I have just listened to this album on my earphones and apart from some slight crackling in between the tracks and some very minimalistic light crackling at the start and end of a few tracks the sound is still superb, there are no pops or jumps and overall the sound is of excellent quality. 

SIDE 1.

1. SHAPES OF THINGS. - ''Rearranged, but the same Yardbirds hit.This must be played at maximum volume whatever phonograph you use.Makes very appropriate background music if you have the Vicar over for tea''.

2. LET ME LOVE YOU. - ''Heavy number, tambourine played divinely by Micky Waller. Written by Rod Stewart. Multipurpose tune''.

3. MORNING DEW - ''Everyone knows Tim does this wonderfully,but so do we.

4. YOU SHOOK ME - ''Probaly the rudest sounds everrecorded,Intended for listening  to whilst angry or stoned.Last note of the song is my guitar being sick-well so would you be if I smashed your guts out fot 2:28''.

5. OL'MAN RIVER - Arranged by me, but credit must go to all,everyone was super especially Rod Stewart.Again played loudly gives maximum value''.

SIDE 2.

1. GREENSLEEVES - (Aye that's a lovely ''toon'')played on Mickie Most's guitar which by the way is the same as Elvis''.

2. ROCK MY PLIMSOUL - Recorded flipside of ''Tally Man'' much better feel and more spontaneity than the original''.

3. BECK'S BOLERO - Not much to say about this, excuse same track on here as on ''Silver Lining'' B side, but we couldn't improve on it''.

4. BLUES DE LUXE - ''Thanks to Bert & Stan, we  were able to to give you a perfect example of ''live'' blues music that we sometimes give forth, and please let's own up about the piano solo''.

5. I AIN'T SUPERSTITIOUS - ''Stolen riff from old ''Howlin Wolf'' tune, but he doesn't mind because I asked him.This number is more or less an excuse for being flash on guitar''.
