JEFF BECK TRUTH
Issue : UK 1st PRESS Label : COLUMBIA Catalogue No : SCX 6293
Matrix : YAX 3706-1 / 3707-1
This scarce UK 1st press is on the black and blue Columbia label. It is complete with the very earliest matrix, the original heavy vinyl and the original laminated, flipback, Patents Pending, Garrod & Lofthouse sleeve. Released in 1968, the album famously features the vocals of Rod Stewart, the bass of Ron Wood, the hammond of John Paul Jones and piano of Nicky Hopkins.
The vinyl is in Very Good condition. The heavy vinyl has a sensational mirrored gloss, with a couple of light marks and a few very light wispy marks on both sides. The original Columbia label is bold and completely clean. The black is solid, the text is sharp and there is just light spindle wear.
The sound quality is Very Good. The vinyl lies completely flat on the turntable and the sound is warm and rich. There is some light background noise throughout but none that spoils the enjoyment of the album at any point.
The laminated sleeve is in Very Good condition. The laminate has a bright shine, the image is still very clear and the text is sharp. There is some light edge and ring wear. The rear of the sleeve has some discolouration but it is still bright and the text is sharp. The sleeve is solid and the spine is firm.
