Listed for sale is the vintage Stereo album SURREALISTIC PILLOW by the Jefferson Airplane, released in February 1967 by RCA Victor Records.  The group was formed in San Francisco during the 1960s and this album was released months before the City's famous "Summer of Love."

Two of the songs on this album ("Somebody To Love" and "White Rabbit") are among Rolling Stone's '500 Greatest Songs of All Time."  One of the few albums to have such an honor.

BONUS:  The Seller went to high school in Berkeley, California with the founder of the Jefferson Airplane:  Paul Kantner

 Paul Kantner Images Included:  I was a classmate of Paul Kantner in High School in Berkeley, California.  I have enclosed 7 images (See photo No. 10) of Paul from the yearbooks of his four years at St Mary's College High School.  Paul was a "boarder student" and lived in the campus Residence Hall as his father travelled extensively after the passing of Paul's mother.  

I also included a candid photo from one of the yearbooks of another classmate of ours:  Tom Fogerty (Founder of Creedence Clearwater Revival) !

Condition:  There are very minimal signs of 'rim wear' on the cover. All of the four corners of the cover are in good condition and show minimal storage wear.   There are no slits on any edge of the cover sleeve.  The album has been stored in a smoke-free environment for the past 50 years.  There is minimal ring wear on either side of the record itself (see close-up images of both sides).  

The color of the record is bright as it has been stored in smoke-free environment for decades.  

The vinyl itself is in VG++ condition. High gloss shine and very few & lightly visible needle marks on the after-groove portion (See close-up images of both sides - Nos. 5-8).  Play graded VG++. Labels are clean with no spindle marks. (See images) Really the record is in overall good condition and plays great!!! Conservatively graded. US shipping only!

SPECIAL NOTE:  I personally purchased this album immediately after it was issued in 1967 in San Francisco.  This record has been played, conservatively, less than a dozen times in 50+ years ... I played it for the first time since that era during this past week (both sides complete) in preparation for listing the album for sale.

It was my practice to purchase albums of the era (1960s, while I was single !!) and to record them immediately on my  reel-to-reel Stereo Tape Recorder for playback through my stereo system.  (See stacks of my tapes in Image No. 9 for informational purposes only; tapes are not for sale).  This practice was true for all the albums in my library - I did this for every album.  So, this album is in Very Good condition from a wear and quality standpoint as it has been stored continuously since that time.

Some super great songs on this album!  Love 'em all !!   .... all bring back to me special times and special people and relationships I had ... a masterful piece of work ... still !!  5 decades later !!

GRADING STANDARDS

NM (Near Mint) Like new

VG++ The record will have a few visual imperfections that should not affect the sound.

VG+ More surface marks than VG++. The record has been played but well taken care of and should play with very few audible imperfections.

VG The record will display light surface scuffs and marks. Expect some light surface noise in parts or occasional clicks or pops. A VG record will play with minimal noise and will be quite enjoyable.

VG- The record may have deeper more audible scratches. There will be more clicks and pops than that of a VG record but with ll play without skipping.

G The record will have very heavy wear, deep scratches and very apparent surface noise, clicks or pops.

Poor: Records with this grade should be considered unplayable.
